Our program for the meeting
will be a film on the Puerto Rico Battalion
during the Korean War. A very interesting
bit of history, not to be missed. The 65th
Infantry Regiment, Comprised primarily of
Puerto Rico regiment, began as a volunteer
regiment in 1899 and participated in WWI and
WWII. It was during the Korean War, that
they made their mark an saw extensive
combat. During the Korean War they
received orders to take 2 hills held by the
Chinese 145th Division. After 3 days of
fighting, they fixed bayonets and charged.
